Thank You Cache Valley

In January of 2017 I moved to Cache Valley to call this new place home. It was a three day drive with more than a little uncertainty, but was more than a great experience for me. Almost five and half years later I bid adieu as I move on to my next step in my career. Fresh off my 33rd birthday it is a good chunk of my life spent here with a lot of memories and a place I'll always be fond of.

I moved to Cache Valley to take over the Morning Show on VFX and thus owe a thank you to the Cache Valley Media Group for giving me this opportunity. It was my first morning show and I also got the opportunity to call sports, a dream come true that I'm very much looking forward to continuing. With the station yet to reach it's 25th anniversary, I will always be a big part of the station's history and was part of the longest running morning show that created great radio. I got do a lot of magical things that I felt really made an impact and that's the core of what I really hope for my career in radio.

The Back 2 School Tour, Weenie Wednesday, all things that were awesome to get out and meet the great community and try and give something back to that community that welcomed me. While those things garnered attention from my peers, it made me feel like I was a Utahn. Being in the dunk tank, random strangers pieing me in the face, proposing to strangers on Valentine's Day, all fun things that were great to share. I also want to thank the sports audience for being so great when I got to be on the Full Court Press and allowed me to do the thing I love. Thank you.

I owe a huge thanks and shout out to Producer Butterz who was a great boss. There aren't many people in radio who care and have the devotion to their craft as much as he. I never had to worry about things being taken care of to put me in the best position as possible as an on air talent with him working behind the scenes. There's plenty he dealt with that allowed me to be creative, not to mention the freedom to be myself. He taught me a lot and it never felt like late hours whenever we were working together because it was always fun. There is no one that loves VFX as much as he and as long as he's in control I have no worries about the station. Producer Butterz is a great boss and a great friend and I'm glad I got to work with him.

Thanks to my time at VFX I also got to work with Ajay, Cody and several awesome members of the play-by-play team. Hurricane Newbold, Al Lewis, Craig Hislop, Dave Simmons and Nick Zollinger are all great and each give me advice to help in shaping the play-by-play broadcaster I am now. With Ajay and Cody I have my podcast 'From the Bleachers' that is always a blast to do and I look forward to continuing in the future. I can't wait to work with them in a future and look forward to their careers continuing in sports and broadcasting and am glad I got to be part of a play-by-play team with these guys who care much about what they do.

And with that said I owe a big thank you to Utah State University. It was a dream come true to be part of division one sport broadcast for Utah State Women's Basketball. The USU Softball broadcast staff was a blast to work with also. Doug, Ashley, the sports staffs and countless others deserve huge thank yous. Giving me that chance, and allowing me to work with a great friend, was so awesome. The staff was amazing and allowing me to do some other things in the sports department is something I wasn't sure would ever happen. The fans, the staff, everyone was so helpful and receptive allowing me to live a dream and I'll be sad to leave them behind, but know I'll continue to pursue this amazing dream I want to live.

I cannot talk about my time in Cache Valley without talking about meeting the love of my life, Ashleigh Eden Dunn. If I hadn't of come here then I wouldn't of met her and now I have my lifelong companion as my fiancé and we move on to continue our dreams. For nothing else, the move was worth it just to meet my best friend, my foundation, my travel companion, my love. If it wasn't for her beside me I would not be the person I am now.

With all that said, you'll find me next in Augusta, Maine as the Morning Show Producer on the Jay and Desiree Show. I'll be on with them and you can stream at mixmaine.com while I'll also continue sports broadcasts with lots of other opportunities I'm eager to pursue. They're a great duo and are going to be a blast to work with and have already been amazing in welcoming me and I can't wait to join them July 1st. I'm excited to join a company that is going to put me in a position to set my future for all I want to accomplish while also allowing me to shape things.

However, I wouldn't be where I was without Cache Valley. Thank you so much for allowing me to entertain you in the mornings, for sharing my stories and working through whatever was going on and commiserating with those dealing with similar things. The messages of love and luck already sent my way have meant more than words can express, but thank you. There are so many memories, so many impactful stories and experiences shared and marks left that I will take with me wherever I go. I hope you can continue to listen and stay in contact as I never will forget Cache Valley. Thank you.
